My Love is like a Red Red Rose

by Robert Burns - arr & sung by Graham Dodsworth

mp3 Attributed to Robert Burns and almost certainly written by him. It is worth noting however that he, like Banjo Patterson and a lot of writers, singers and collectors, died with a number of songs in their posession the authorship of which cannot be totally certain. Burns, for instance, also rewrote songs/poems he collected, such as John Anderson My Jo where he most likely collected the two verse version and based his six verse version on it and similarly the better known 'Auld Lang Syne' which he described as ancient and wished he could have written it

I recorded this on the 18th of June 2012

People started asking me to learn this in the late 70s but not being familiar with the song at the time, it took a few decades to get around to it. This is the first time I've recorded it. I must do a proper one some time. This recordign was inspired by a new set of Sennheiser headphones and the need to test my gear before heading north to do a gig later in the week.
